Coast Tire Day WINNER! | On Sunday, June 17th 2007 the Moncton Mets were topped out by the Chatham Ironmen with a score of 1 - 3 at the annual Coast Tire day game at the Kiwanis Park in Moncton, New Brunswick. Despite this disappointing loss, there was still one home game winner of the day. Earl Boyce was the lucky Coast Tire day winner and was presented with a certificate for a set of 4 brand new tires by Jack Jacobs, VP of Operations for Coast Tire. Changes to Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle InspectionsSaint John, New Brunswick, January 29th, 2007 -
Coast Tire & Auto Service would like to notify our customers that as of February 1st, 2007, changes to the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Inspection Regulations will take effect. These changes are being made to improve safety for both drivers and pedestrians throughout Nova Scotia. The most significant of these changes are: - A new "Out of Service" designation for vehicles that are not roadworthy and could jeopardize the health and safety of the driver or others. Vehicles assigned the "Out of Service" designation will not be allowed back on the road until the problem is repaired.
- Vehicles needing minor repairs will still receive a rejection sticker and will have 10 days to have the vehicle reinspected.
Other changes to the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Inspection include: - The need to keep the inspection certificate in the vehicle.
- Wheel removal will be required to fully inspect the brakes. This brings the Nova Scotia brake inspection requirements in line with those of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, provinces which have a reciprocal agreement with Nova Scotia to honour inspections.
- Enhanced qualifications for testers.
- Increased accountability for station owners to ensure the quality of inspections.
- Inspection fees will be increased to $25.00 for most passenger vehicles.
These are the first significant changes to the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle inspection process since its inception in 1967.
