Hands on the Wheel
Effective April 1st, 2008, it is against the law in Nova Scotia to use a hand-held cellular phone or text messaging device, while driving.
 IN NOVA SCOTIA
| Driver distraction is a leading cause of motor vehicle collisions. Keep your focus on driving. It's safer, and as of April 1st, it's the law. Penalties in Nova Scotia are:
- $50 for the first offence,
- $100 for the second and
- $200 for the third and subsequent offences.
